Kid's
Kingdom
The Kids Kingdom Grand Reopening, after the post-fire rebuild, took place at 3:00 Sunday, September 26, 2004.
The Madison Kid's Kingdom playground at Dublin Park was
damaged by arson spring of 2004. In response to this damage, the original
1997 design/build team got back together to rebuild Kid's Kingdom better
than it was before the fire. The rebuild effort took place September 17 through
19. Hurricane Ivan made its way through north Alabama on the afternoon of
Sep 16, leaving the rebuild effort in something of a mess at its outset.
However, the team not only rebuilt the damaged playground
areas, but also added 4 new playground areas. The rebuild effort was a resounding success, despite
hurricane Ivan!
